Joey’s Place: Exceptional Recreation for Exceptional Youth, Inc. was incorporated as a non-stock Corporation in Waukesha WI, in February 2013, and recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit Corporation by the IRS in August, 2013. It was formed upon the notion that ALL youth deserve an opportunity to have fun.
Joey’s Place provides a variety of afterschool youth development programs in adapted sports, recreational activities, and social development, designed to foster inclusion and emotional growth in children with physical and mental disabilities, particularly those children with Autism. Its programming integrates exceptional youth with their peers in a unique way; that is, volunteers will have one-on-one peer interaction with their assigned exceptional youth participants.
Once it is financially capable of doing so, Joey’s Place intends to plan and implement new activities each day in the fields of (1) adapted sports; (2) recreation; and, (3) social development. Doing so is crucial in order to offer a variety of services to suit the unique needs of each uniquely exceptional youth-participant.
